about

Caucuses help states and the Democratic parties choose presidential nominees. Several states hold caucuses in the months leading up to a presidential election. Caucuses are meetings run by political parties that are held at the county, district, or precinct level. State parties require participants to divide themselves into groups according to the candidate they support. Undecided participants form their own group. Each candidate’s group gives speeches and tries to get others to join their group. At the end, the number of delegates given to each candidate is based on the number of caucus votes they received. This process ultimately helps determine the presidential nominee for the Democratic party.

  • Caucus preference recording app and voter check in systems used by volunteers

  • Caucus early voting system used by caucus voters

  • Caucus analytics dashboards and user management system used by state parties, volunteers and the DNC

For this project, I worked with a Product Manager and several developers. This was a consulting project where I worked closely with stakeholders including directors and members of two state parties, as well as the DNC.
